The Volkswagen Passat is a mid-size saloon, with an estate version called the Variant, for families and business users. Most imports have the 1400cc TSI turbo petrol engine with a seven-speed DSG automatic. Some have the 2000cc TDI turbo diesel, which uses about the same fuel in Volkswagen's Japanese figures. It uses about the same fuel as the smaller Golf with the 1400cc engine. Expect about 14.7 km/L, or KSh 15.45 per km at today's Nairobi petrol price.
