In short: you can use Kilolita without an account. We collect very little: what you choose to send us, and what we need to keep the site safe. We do not sell personal data. We use Google Analytics cookies only if you accept them, and no advertising cookies.
Kilolita is run by the independent operator of Kilolita in Kenya, the data controller under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019. You can reach us through our contact page.

We rely on your consent when you choose to send us something or accept analytics cookies, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the site accurate and safe. You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 6, or Cookie settings at the bottom of every page).
We do not sell or rent personal data. Some of these services are outside Kenya, in the European Union and the United States. We use established providers that protect data as the Act requires for transfers out of Kenya.
The site runs only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We store scrambled codes in place of IP addresses. Only staff who need it can see what you send, and every staff sign-in is protected and logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

To use any of these, write to us through our contact page. Tell us the email you used so we can find your data. We may ask you to confirm it is yours, and we reply within the time the law sets. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Kilolita is for adults. If you are under 18, please do not send us figures or messages.
We update this policy when what we collect or who handles it changes, for example before adding advertising. The date at the top shows the latest version.
