Parts for the 1NZ-FE engine are easy to find in Nairobi, including on Kirinyaga Road and Grogan, and most mechanics know the engine well. On cars past about 150,000 km, watch for the engine burning oil, which also pushes fuel use up. Check tyre pressure every month and avoid long idling. Both cost more fuel than most owners expect.
