The Mitsubishi Pajero is a large four-wheel-drive SUV, with seven seats in its long-wheelbase form, used for long trips and rough roads. Most on Kenyan roads have the 3200cc DI-D turbo diesel with a five-speed automatic. Petrol versions have a 3000cc or 3800cc six-cylinder engine and use clearly more fuel than the diesel. The 3800cc uses the most fuel of all. It is sold in the UK as the Shogun. Expect about 7.2 km/L, or KSh 31.63 per km at today's Nairobi diesel price.
